FAQ | Frequently Asked Questions
Got questions? We’ve got answers. Whether you’re curious about flavours, custom orders, storage tips, or how to get your hands on our next batch, this is the place to dig in.
At Kitchening & Co, our macarons are made in-house, hand-finished, with serious attention to detail. We operate in an SQF-certified facility, so while we like to keep things fun, we’re very serious about quality and food safety.
From everyday indulgence to wholesale, weddings, events, and corporate gifting, we’re here to make things easy and delicious. Take a scroll through our FAQs below to learn what makes our macarons stand out (and why they rarely last long once opened).
Are your macarons gluten free?
Yes. We make our macarons in a facility without gluten or peanuts.
What is the shelf life of your macarons?
Our macarons are good frozen up to 1 year from manufacture date, and 10 days refrigerated.
Do your macarons have to be refrigerated?
Yes. Because our macarons are made with real dairy, eggs, and fresh fillings, they do need to be refrigerated. We prioritize quality and flavour over shelf stability, and are best enjoyed with friends.
Can you do a blue macaron?
We wish we could do blue, but natural blues like spirulina don’t survive the oven very well and tend to turn… kind of sad grey.
Since we only use natural colours, we’d rather skip it than serve a macaron that looks a little gloomy. If we ever crack the code on a vibrant natural blue, you’ll hear about it.
What makes your marshmallows gourmet?
Our marshmallows are all made in-house in small batches, and hand-cut. They are designed with flavour, and texture in mind, instead of sitting on a shelf for years.
Can you do custom flavours and designs?
Yes! We love bringing custom ideas to life. We offer custom colours, flavours, and designs for events, brands, and special occasions. Minimums and lead times apply, so we recommend reaching out early to start the process.
Do you meet food safety standards for retail or wholesale?
Yes. Our SQF-certified facility and documented food safety systems make our products suitable for retail and wholesale distribution, providing our partners with confidence in quality, safety, and compliance.
How can I buy your products?
We distribute our products through a combination of direct wholesale and key distribution partners.
We proudly partner with Snow Cap, Bakemark, Hart Marketing, and GFS Calgary to serve cafés, retailers, and foodservice operators across Western Canada.
